Chelsea offer John Mikel Obi to Italian Teams for £5million

Chelsea have offered midfielder John Obi Mikel to Italian sides for transfer
The Nigerian struggled for playing time at Chelsea last season

Chelsea are looking to offload midfielder John Obi Mikel also with clubs in Italy claiming they have been offered the Nigerian for £5million.

Mikel started just 11 Premier League games for Chelsea last season as he struggled for game time alongside the likes of Nemanja Matic, Willian and Ramires.

With Cesc Fabregas joining the club in a £30m deal from Barcelona his chances for regular football will be even rarer.

Mikel, who played in all of Nigeria’s games at the 2014 World Cup as they reached the second round and were beaten by France, claims not to be by Fabregas’ arrival.

He said: ‘I don’t have a problem with the signing of Cesc Fabregas,’ he said. ‘We have played against each other a lot of times. We don’t play in the same position anyway.’
