Some witnesses told journalists in Maiduguri that a team of policemen had engaged some insurgents in a gun duel at Nganaram Bulabulin forcing the police to make a U-turn heading back to Maiduguri at high speed.
A senior police officer who requested anonymity told journalists there were no inuries but police had taken an alternative route to convey the corpse to Hawul for burial.
