Boko Haram: Maiduguri Residents Remain Indoor During Sallah

There is increased  security alert in Maiduguri, the birthplace of Boko Haram with heavy security checkpoints in the troubled town as the military and security agencies take precaution to ward off anticipated attack on the town by the terrorist group during the El-Eid-Fitri celebration.

The military also placed what might be termed a total curfew on the town as vehicular moment is stopped throughout the period of the celebration.

This might make it difficult for Islamic faithful to get to the prayer ground for the Eid prayer marking the end of Ramadan and the epicenter of the celebration.

The military acting on a tip-off that the insurgents aim to bomb some public places with vehicles laden with explosive took the decision to see off all vehicles from the road from Monday to Wednesday.
