Kogi United coach, Abdul Bidemi Biffo has said his side will land the
ticket to represent Nigeria at the continent through the ongoing
Federation Cup.
The Nigeria National League (NNL) side dumped Yobe Desert Stars 2-1
in the round of 64 in Jos to book passage to confront former Nigerian
champions, Dolphins in the round of 32 tie next week at a yet to be
fixed venue.
Biffo said his wards will use the platform provided by the annual
football showpiece to make a bold statement that they can match the best
in the land.
“Of course, Kogi United will be a strong candidate for continental ticket through this year’s Federation Cup.
“We’ve already served the notice with the convincing win against Yobe Desert Stars in the round of 64 duel in Jos.
“Kogi United play good football and we’re determined to use the
leveling platform of the Federation Cup to push the words across.
“Already we’re keenly looking forward to the round of 32 clash against Dolphins next week in a yet to be named venue.
“Dolphins are favourites and enjoy a good run in the Federation Cup
but that will be past honour by the time we’re done with them.
“We don’t consider the name of the opponents or profile but the fact that on match day it’ll be 11 players apiece.
“Determination to succeed is our watchword and it’ll see us through
against Dolphins. We know for us to achieve our lofty dream we must be
at our best and play against the best, we’re prepared for Dolphins and
won’t be stopped by the Glo Premier League side,” said the former Giwa
FC coach to supersport.com.
Kogi United are still in hot contention for a promotion ticket to the
Premier League from the Nigeria National League (NNL) Division A.
