Liverpool Football Club are coming to terms with losing their world class striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona. Brendan Rodgers believes his team will cope without the Uruguayan but it is clear that losing such a brilliant player will be tough It will be interesting to see if anybody can step-up to the plate and replace Suarez’s goals for the Reds. Liverpool worked wonders to keep Suarez at the club after he was banned last year for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.
It was keen then that the player wanted to move to Spain but the club stuck to their guns and made the best of the situation. His form last year was magnificent but after the latest incident it is time to accept Suarez has now brought too much bad publicity on the club. The fact his latest brush with the authorities was played out on the world stage makes things worse and it was certainly the right time for Liverpool and the player to part. Considering what has happened the Reds have negotiated a great price for the striker so both parties can part on reasonably good terms. Nevertheless, opinion will always be divided between supporters as some would like to keep him and others feel he should go.
Personally I think the time is not right for Suarez to leave even if Liverpool can’t rely on his behaviour and if he is to repeat another ‘biting’ incident then he will be banned for a very long time. Therefore to get a good sum of money from the sale of Suarez to invest in the team is probably the best outcome possible. After all, no one player is bigger than the team and Liverpool have recovered from other setbacks in the past. It is now time for Liverpool fans to find new heroes and it is a great opportunity for someone else to step up and become the latest Kop idol.
