As I dey talk this matter, I dey cry, because I dey reason the pain for the Papa and Mama of the Pikin. Na on Friday for Asaba, Delta State nai dis matter for happen, where one 37-year-old house wife and nursing mother, Maureen Akowe, lose her four-month-old baby to her dog.
She carry both her pikin, her dog, and her nanny for the same car, go supermarket for shopping, wind the glass down small make air for dey enter the motor, come leave all of them, enter the supermarket alone.
Before She know wetin dey happen, she hear people dey shout for outside, come outside, come see the nanny dey hala cry.
The Nanny say the Dog just kolo, rush the small pikin, begin dey bite d pikin for belle(stomach), as she dey shout, the dog rush am, and the two security guards when dey guard the supermarket. Blood full everywhere, even as dem rush the baby reach hospital for Nnebisi road, the baby no survive the incident.
According to the nanny, “Madam carry the dog and baby and asked us to stay inside the car, because the dog was to be treated at the veterinary, suddenly I saw the dog moving closer to the baby and I shouted for help when the dog opened its teeth and I ran out of the car to call madam but she did not come on time”.
The people wey dey close to the family say since the woman marry for 3 years now, she never get any pikin, this na her first and only pikin nai make she call am Chinonso.
The husband of the woman as e dey cry, say; “my wife said it is the devil’s work and the devil’s work will take her out of my house, I have warned her about the dog when I notice that the dog had been behaving funny. She still kept carrying the dog claiming that she was going to give treatment to the dog. This is how the devil had ruined her”.
